Getting a passport or ID photo should not require a difficult trip across the city. Green Day Photography provides mobile passport photos for seniors in Toronto and the GTA, including visits to private homes, retirement residences, assisted-living communities, long-term-care homes, hospitals and rehabilitation centres.
We bring a professional camera, portable background and controlled lighting directly to the client. The setup can be adjusted around a chair, wheelchair, mobility aid or accessible space, allowing the senior to remain as comfortable as possible while we prepare a clear, properly framed photo for the required application.

Why Mobile Passport Photography Is Helpful for Seniors
For many older adults, visiting a busy retail photo counter is uncomfortable or simply not possible. Limited mobility, fatigue, pain, recovery from surgery, cognitive changes, transportation difficulties or facility access rules can turn a short appointment into a major challenge.
An on-location session removes unnecessary travel and waiting. We work at the client’s pace, explain each step clearly and allow additional time when positioning or expression requires patience. A family member, caregiver or facility staff member may remain nearby throughout the visit.
- No trip to a studio or pharmacy
- A familiar and quieter environment
- Equipment adjusted to the senior instead of moving the senior unnecessarily
- Patient guidance for posture, head position and neutral expression
- Service suitable for homes, hospitals and care facilities
Passport Photos for Wheelchair Users and Limited Mobility
A client does not need to stand for a compliant passport photo. We can lower the camera, reposition the background and adjust the lighting around a wheelchair or supportive chair. When a senior has difficulty sitting upright or maintaining one position, we take additional frames and work in short, comfortable intervals.

How the Senior Passport Photo Visit Works
- Book the visit: Tell us the application type, address and any mobility, health, access or timing considerations.
- Coordinate access: For a hospital, LTC home or retirement residence, the family should confirm visitor rules, parking and the correct room or unit.
- Set up the mobile studio: We install a neutral background and professional lighting in a small suitable space.
- Photograph patiently: We guide the client and capture multiple frames to obtain the clearest compliant option.
- Prepare the deliverables: The visit includes two printed passport photos, the required studio information and a digital copy.

Canadian Passport Photo Requirements for Seniors
Senior passport photos follow the same technical rules as other adult Canadian passport photos. According to the Government of Canada passport photo requirements, printed photos must be taken in person by a commercial photographer, professionally printed and remain unaltered.
- Finished photo size: 50 mm × 70 mm
- Face height from chin to crown: 31 mm to 36 mm
- Clear, sharp image with even lighting and no facial or background shadows
- Plain white or light-coloured background with adequate contrast
- Full front view with the head and shoulders centred
- Neutral expression, mouth closed and eyes clearly visible
- Taken within six months and showing the applicant’s current appearance
- Studio name, complete address and date taken placed on the back of one printed photo
Prescription glasses may be worn when there is no glare and the eyes are fully visible; sunglasses and tinted lenses are not accepted. If a person cannot meet a requirement for medical reasons, the Government of Canada advises including a written explanation with the application. Final acceptance is always determined by the issuing authority.
Preparing a Senior for the Appointment
Only a small amount of preparation is normally required. Choose plain clothing that contrasts with a light background, keep hair away from the eyes and avoid large accessories that obscure facial features. The senior may remain in a familiar chair or wheelchair if that is more comfortable.
If medication, meals, rest or care routines affect alertness, book the appointment for the person’s best time of day. For clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or difficulty following instructions, having a familiar caregiver present can make the session calmer and more efficient.
Mask, Gloves or Additional Protective Clothing on Request
Families and facilities may request that the photographer wear a medical mask, disposable gloves or other reasonable protective clothing during the visit. Please tell us when booking so we can arrive prepared and follow the facility’s current infection-control and visitor procedures.
Equipment can be cleaned before setup, and the photographer can minimize contact with the client and surrounding surfaces. Facility-specific requirements must be shared with us before the appointment.

Hospital, Rehabilitation and Bedside Appointments
We can visit hospitals and rehabilitation centres when the facility permits access and an appropriate space is available. The camera and backdrop can often be arranged beside a bed or around a supportive chair. We never ask a client to move in a way that conflicts with instructions from medical or care staff.

Before confirming a hospital visit, please provide the facility name, unit, room number, parking or entrance instructions and a reliable contact number for the family member or staff member coordinating access.
